About the role

TIC is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and hard-workingÌýElectrical FitterÌýApprenticeÌýwho has a strong desire to build a career as an Electrical Fitter in theÌýIndustrial / mining / electrical industry.ÌýThe role is based in the Winston Hills office. It is a 4-year Apprenticeship with requirement to attend 1 full day of TAFE per week.

As an Electrical Apprentice, you will be working alongside a highly experienced Manager and receive support and mentoring throughout the duration of your apprenticeship.ÌýOur apprentice program will rotate you through various areas of the business including low voltage motors workshop, test lab, drafting, technical support, service, sales and project management.Ìý
With exposure to a wide variety of products, industries and applications.

Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Disassembly and Assembly of electric motors.
  • Inspecting electric motors and perform investigations of issues.
  • Using measuring tools and equipment to determine the conformity of motor and parts.
  • Perform modifications as per Toshiba work instructions.
  • Support in developing work instructions for the new modifications.
  • Testing motors as per Toshiba instructions.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement programs.
  • Safe use of workshop tools with attention to higher risk equipment.
  • Attend and successfully complete TAFEÌý

To be considered for this opportunity, ideally you will have:

  • Completed Year 12 and / or already enrolled in Certificate III in Electrotechnology. The enrolment in the Certificate qualification is not a requirement, TIC is able to enrol the successful candidate into the Certification.

  • Long term career goals and commitment to complete the apprenticeship
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Motivated, proactive and ability to work hard under supervision and independently as required
  • Reliable on the job, high initiative, and adaptability
  • Hands on experience and working with tools is favourable
  • Driver's licence would be desirable, but not a must
