1st or 2nd Year Mechanical Fitter Apprentice

We are now hiring a 1st or 2nd Year Mechanical Fitter Apprentice to join our friendly team at Milperra.

If you want to learn and excel, this is the role for you! You'll be working with new plus older machines and technologies, which makes the challenges more interesting and helps you learn the basics thoroughly. You'll get hands-on experience with programming and operating lathe machines, handling parts and materials, milling, grinding, MIG, TIG, arc welding and doing routine layouts for machining parts. You'll also work closely with experienced tradies who have loads of practical industry knowledge.

Here are a few things you can expect from this apprenticeship opportunity:

  • On-the-job training: You'll be learning by doing! You'll be part of a team that will provide hands-on training as you learn in the fabrication and running/programming of equipment.
  • Career growth: As you become more skilled, you'll have the opportunity to take on more responsibilities and advance your career.

What are we looking for? You…

  • Have a C class drivers' licence (provisional licences are accepted).
  • Hold a current White Card.
  • Are enthusiastic, motivated and have a willingness to learn.
